Aryani Manring will speak on “Top Topics in U.S.-Mongolian Relations: What Does the Future Hold?” at DACOR-Bacon House on December 8th.
She currently serves as the Mongolia Desk Officer at the U.S. Department of State in the Office of Chinese and Mongolian Affairs. She has served in Jakarta, Mexico City, Islamabad, and more recently in Washington, where she was a staff assistant to the Assistant Secretary for East Asian and Pacific Affairs. Aryani grew up in Indonesia and joined the Foreign Service in 2009. She studied Sociology and Anthropology at Swarthmore College and Government at the London School of Economics. Previous to joining the Foreign Service, she worked in the areas of legal reform and development, and was a professional dancer and choreographer. Her spouse, Scott Kofmehl, is also in the Foreign Service. They are raising a toddler.
